Hurricane Sandy recently roared through the North East of the United States, causing severe damage in New York City. We offer our sincerest wishes for your safety and well being during such a trying time. We have full faith that this city and its resilient inhabitants will survive this storm, and thrive on the other side.
Linda’s is based in New York with our two Linda’s boutiques in Manhattan and our warehouse in Brooklyn. Luckily, our locations and (most importantly) our Bra Divas and staff were spared any permanent or life threatening damage. We are counting our blessings.
Ch-ch-ch-changes! I’ve been in the bra business for a long time – over 25 years. In those years I have fit thousands of women with thousands of bras. I have always used the same “good fit” criteria, and made it my mission to help women find the right bra size, feel comfortable, and be confident. Throughout my years, I’ve always said that an in-person fitting with a trained bra fitter is best, but I’ve also been “braducating” women about what makes a good fit, how to shop for bras on their own, and even how to measure themselves to get a good starting point.
Recently, I was interviewed by SheFinds.com and suggested that bra sizes have changed in the past 10 years due to vanity sizing. This led to a segment on Good Morning America (above), more articles, and a huge discussion on the social media outlets. I was expecting some differing views on the topic, but I wasn’t expecting so much misunderstanding. So, keep on reading for my explanation of why I think vanity sizing has changed modern bra sizes.

My two store locations have been carrying the Parfait by Affinitas bras and undies for awhile now. My customers love them! I mean, flirty and basic bras that fit 30D-40G? Who wouldn’t love them! With such a demand for great fitting bras at great prices, it was only a matter of time before I introduced my online customers to the world of Affinitas.
All of the bras below are available for 30D-40G sizes and range from $40-$48.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! I’m happy to share some recent articles and videos featuring… me! Any time I’m able to get the word out about proper bra fitting, I’m thrilled. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately:
In my interview with Real Beauty, I get real about comfort. There’s no need to beat around the bush- a bra that fits well, feels good. I was very happy to fit my lovely interviewer… but totally unhappy to hear that someone had recently told her she was a 34C. Not even close! Read up to see what surprising size (well, at least to her!) she left with, and get my straight-forward facts about bras while you’re at it.
I can’t resist sharing this adorable blog post, from Bra La Mode, about a daughter taking her 70-year-old mother to my Murray Hill shop for a proper bra fitting. It’s just too adorable! Hear her testimonial on why wearing the right bra size is important at any age. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll relate. For example: “When I was a little girl, I thought my Mom had the world’s biggest boobs. I don’t remember thinking about what that would mean for me or the challenges that would lie ahead. But, as suspected, I am now the proud of owner of an above-average sized pair of boobs.” Like mother, like daughter, right?
